Two members of Slug Log 3, Mark Sanders aka ‘Bean’ and Skizz Cyzyk, branched off to form experimental studio band Gneebnazix (the name is “Skizz and Bean” said backwards). Relentlessly taking advantage of the new home recording technologies available at the time, the duo released 4 albums worth of material in two years, which they self-distributed internationally through mail order. Their recordings found their way onto the tour buses of bands like Butthole Surfers and They Might Be Giants. In 1988, the duo became a trio, adding The Pre-Fetal Pigs’ Pete Moe aka ‘Meatpole’ Moe, and changed their name first to The Marrys & Cheesey Jane, and then to Blister Freak Circus (see bio).
