A pianist and arranger formerly with the Bert Blizzard Trio and host of WAAM-TV channel 13 “WAAMboree” program. Girard, a veteran musician who participated in tours worldwide, was a house pianist and music director for several radio and TV stations. Rae formed a smooth jazz/pop group in the ‘60s to be the house band for the new Tail of The Fox membership Restaurant. Group members included Mel Seebode (bass, vocals – a veteran of the Marveleers, the Meyer Davis Orch, also radio and TV work – later worked with the George Hipp Orchestra…), Don Cohen (trumpet, mellophone – a Philadelphian formerly with the Air Force Band), Don Arnold (trumpet – also of A. F. Band), and Joe Ooij (percussionist from the Netherlands). They released an album titled “The Music of Rae Girard at The Tail of The Fox” (Panda 1) produced by Ralph Elsmo and Zim Zemarel.
Other members of Girard’s group included Bing Miller (drums –also with Morgan Baer Orchestra and, later led his own Bing Miller Big Band), Frank Cantalupo (valve trombone ex-Jerry Trotta Band – later with Joe Walsh & Mark IV…).
