In 1994, former Mooncalves leader and founding Liquor Bike guitarist Stefan Myers (aka John Stefan, aka ‘Digger’) formed this trio with Frankentractor’s Paul Kelley on bass and The Put-Outs’ Sam Holden on drums. The group played a handful of shows around Baltimore before Kelley was replaced by Joe Tropea (ex-Shadowmen), and Holden was replaced by Skizz Cyzyk (concurrently playing with Berserk, Blister Freak Circus, and the Kicksouls – see Cyzyk, Skizz).

Myers and Tropea relocated to Brooklyn, NY, with Cyzyk commuting for practice/recording. In 1995 Gill released their only 7” on You Say When Records. The group played a record release show at Baltimore’s Memory Lane, and then toured the East Coast. Gill played one last Baltimore show, a benefit at Memory Lane, before disbanding.

Tropea moved back to Baltimore to play in Dirty Sanchez, and The Jennifers. Myers became involved in NYC’s anti-folk scene, playing Dobro under the name Breadfoot, before relocating to Chapel Hill, NC.
