R&B vocal duo from D.C. Gene Dorsett and Eddie Best. The duo was represented by Rufus Mitchell, a booking agent for various local venues including Carr’s Beach in Annapolis, the Royal Theater, and the Coliseum. Mitchell brought Gene & Eddie along with numerous other D.C. and Baltimore artists to record at his studios located near Laurens and McCullough Streets in West Baltimore.

Some of their songs were written and produced by recording artist Joe Quarterman. Both sides of the ‘70s release on D.C.’s Mon’Ca label (originally released on Ru-Jac) were written by Ru-Jac’s Mitchell along with singer Sonny Daye. The duo also recorded the Arthur Conley / Rufus Mitchell song “Sweet Little Girl.”

Dorsett also did some solo recordings at Ru-Jac.
