Rock and roll band from Ellicott City. Members in ‘67-68 were Tim McShane (keyboard), Greg Maier (guitar), Phil Maier (guitar), John, Bill O’Hara (bass), Mike O’Hara (lead guitar), and Jim Liller (drums).

The name Excursians was intentionally spelled in order to make it describe people rather than a thing.

In early 1968 there were numerous personnel changes settling on the line-up of Bill and Mike O’Hara, Liller, Bill Brisan, Louis Lydard, and Jack Curry.

They competed in a Battle of the Bands at the Ellicott City Armory on February 9, 1968 vs. Rebels, Vogue, Hazy Shade, and Society’s Children.

The Excursians won the May 1968 Mount Hebron High School Talent Show. They were also seen at the Ellicott City Lion’s Club YMCA dance, Elkridge Teen Center, Kawanis Hall…

Jim Liller went on to join S.M.U.T., Seed, Penny Candy, Shane. In the ‘00s he performed with Zig Zag. Phil went on to front the popular Ellicott City band Seed.
