Jack (John Herbert) Edwards graduated from Kenwood High School in 1956. His first radio job was a brief stint with WWIN (AM 1400) in 1956. He later got a job at WBAL-TV. In 1959 he began what would become a 15-year career at WCAO (AM 600) where he worked the all-night show (midnight to 6AM) as a premier air personality. Throughout those colorful and formative years of rock and roll, Motown sound, soul, British invasion, etc., Jack was a popular and familiar voice on Baltimore late night radio and host of the ‘Jack Edwards Night People Club.’

Later switching to the day shift, Edwards continued at WCAO until 1974, when he moved slightly up the dial to WCBM (680) to broadcast their oldies format. Edwards also enjoyed stints at WLPL (Baltimore’s first FM Top-40 station), and WYST (92 Star).

Seen in the ‘80s and ‘90s as a mobile DJ spinning the oldies at clubs such as the Westminster Holiday Inn, and the North Star Lounge in Reisterstown. He returned to the air in the ‘90s-’00s on Westminster’s oldies station WTTR (AM 1230) where he could be heard playing those great classic sounds once again.
