Newark, NJ based R&B/Latin soul violinist, songwriter, producer. Toured with Bo Diddley in mid-‘60s. Did studio work in New York with Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaria, and others.

Locally Drennon did work as a musical arranger for record releases by Mickey & His Mice, Changes, Tamlas… 

In the ‘60s Eddie performed at Moe’s Cocktail Lounge on Greene Street for their weekly Latin-American nights. The group included Paul Veney (piano), Ellwood Adams aka ‘Ace the Bass’, and Andre Breckenridge (percussion). The group also performed weekly at the Bamboo Lounge on Pennsylvania Avenue.

With B.B.S. Unlimited band Drennon released the single “Let’s Do the Latin Hustle” in 1975 on the popularity heels of the George McCrae hit “The Hustle.” The record charted nationally in early 1976. A second single “Do It Nice and Easy” was released in 1975 from the album “Collage.” The recordings at D.B. Studios in Silver Spring featured Drennon (violin, viola, electric strings), Esther Williams (vocals), Dorothy Pritchett (vocals), Norris Berry (keyboards), Raymond Gassaway (drums), Thomas Newman (guitar), Rugene Spuill (bass), Arthur Dawkins (flute ex-Dudes & Dolls), and Paul Hawkins (conga, Latin percussion).
