Lee Doll was known as an actor before being convinced by guitarist Bob Urban (Rob Strong & the Dynamics) to try singing. In 1977 they formed the group Norrod Flynt. After a subsequent stint with The Blokes, Doll joined Wally & the Weirdos as lead vocalist in 1980. Lee and drummer Tom Heffernan left the Weirdos in 1983 to form the rock band Talegunner, a band he stayed with until 1987.

During the mid-‘80s Doll worked as a writer for Maryland Musician and Music Monthly magazines as Dr. D The mystic of rock & roll. He formed Neatface Records with Gary Brotman in 1985, releasing records by Dickie Westcott (brother of Al and Bruce), Russ Krauch Band, and the Baltek.
As an actor Lee had a feature role as Dr. Beast in the 1987 film Up Front In America. He produced and hosted the cable TV show Showcase of Stars (1988-90) that presented many local performers. Also during 1988-90 Lee was a DJ/announcer on radio station WHRF, Bel Air.
Solo releases include the 1990 single “Secret Agent Man” b/w “My Shayna,” a self-titled rock album recorded in 1997 at Bratt Studios with backing by Bill Pratt, T.J. Granger (guitars), Tommy Gunn (drums –Gents), Tom Heffernan (drums –Wally/Weirdos, Russ Krauch Band), Sterling Patterson (guitar –Gents, Junkyard Saints), Bobby Urban (guitar), and Shayna Vogle-Doll (vocals). His sophomore album release in 1990 “Second Chance” featured Doll and Bill Pratt on vocals with backing by the Bratt Studio Orchestra and special guest Sterling Patterson. The album was dedicated to the memory of Bob Urban who had taken his own life.
In the ‘00s in addition to solo work Lee performed with the classic rock group The 13th Dream.
