A group called The Deadbeats played at the Last Straw Teen Center in Ellicott City.
Presumably a different group called the Dead Beats originated in Davidsonville, Maryland in Anne Arundel County.

[Michael Lewis] writes about a Deadbeats group “I believe this group was from the Bowie-Crofton area in Anne Arundel County. A record they recorded in 1966 on Grey Ant G-108, “She Don’t Love Me / I’m Sure. Garage rock sound.”
Both sides were written by Ricky Maske and Bobby Coleman, published by Florentine Music (BMI), Florentine was owned by Vernon Wray, his brother Link Wray was rumored to have played on the record.
