Contemporary R&B group featuring vocalists Frederick Gamble aka ‘Bo’, Joe Wiggins, Lenny Greene, adding Keith Owen aka ‘KC’. Crosswind was the Baltimore area winner of 1987 Budweiser Showdown resulting in release of 12” single “Get Ready.” The group also released 12” dance single “We Can Work It Out” b/w “Fire (It’s Getting Hot)” both sides written by Billy Butler and Allan Harris, published by Exact Change Music, recorded at Mega Studios.

After release of their records, keyboardist Gary Hudgins (The Grand Jury, Brides of Funkenstein, MFD & Co.) heard the group playing a function at Druid Hill Park. Their manager persuaded ‘Hudge’ to join the group. As keyboardist and musical director Hudge replaced most of the original backing band with new members including Robert Wilson (lead guitar –Potentials, Maximum Strength), Bill Harris aka ‘Billy Bass’ (bass), Daryl Griffin (drums ex-Potentials, Gaye Street One, Daybreak) replaced with Bobby Ricks (drums), and Stephen Carter (sax).
Hudgins later became the band leader and musical director of the Panama Band and brought the Crosswind Band with him.
