Country group based in Frederick. Toured mid-Atlantic extensively and released several albums consisting of original songs and covers. Opened for many top country artists including Conway Twitty, Louise Mandrell, Hank Snow, and others. The group performed the Inaugural Reception for President Jimmy Carter.
Their 1975 album “Proud to Be an American” was recorded at Major Recording Company, Waynesboro, VA. The lineup featured Ralph Gann (vocals, harmonica ex-Countrymen), Lana Gladhill (vocals), Buddy Weddle (rhythm guitar, vocals), Bill Shanholtzer (dobro, steel guitar), Juggy Donovan (keyboards), Dave Durkovic (bass, vocals), Dean Fisher (lead guitar), and Steve Angleberger (drums).
Vocalist Jeannie Class joined the group in 1975. Other members during the late ‘70s included Buck Linthicum (guitar, vocals), Dale Higgs (bass), Keith Carter (drums), Dennis Jackson (drums), and Bobby Weddle (vocals, bus driver and sound technician).
As Jeannie C & the Country Caravan they released the 1981 album “Wicked Eyes and Wicked Lies” (MRC 4029) featuring Jeannie Class (lead vocals), with Buddy and Bobby Weddle, Shanholtzer, Donovan, Higgs, Angleberger, and new member Danny Ennis (lead guitar, vocals ex-Countrymen),
