The Country Capers, led by Freddie Rick (formerly of the Packers) were a Country & Western band. They were the winner of a “5-state competition” in 1965 and performed at Carl’s Club 33 on Keswick Road. Freddie and the Country Capers were the house band at other clubs including the Southern (‘67-68), Sundays at the Stardust featuring Carole Gaye, Mimmie Lorenzo’s (‘69-71), Boulevard Lounge (‘72), Club Villa, and again at the Southern (‘73).
