Teen rock and roll band formed by friends at Towson Sr. High School. Members were Steve Gibb (guitar), Chuck Schomann (bass), and ex-Rockets Jamie Hess (piano), Al Rossi (sax), and Ben Proctor (drums).

The Commodores along with vocalist Steve Venet went into the studio and recorded some demos of their original songs (although Venet did not sing at any of the live gigs).
The group played local teen centers including Rogers Forge. Reportedly the Admirals, another Towson band who formed in 1959, named themselves to outrank the Commodores. Hess and Proctor went on to help form the Lafayettes. Rossi later played in many bands including the Counts, Crystals, Professionals, Joy, Main Event…
