Group founded by jazz guitarist Maynard Parker. Parker was originally from Minnesota and had worked with greats Charles Earland, Grover Washington and others. He recorded and released his solo album “Midnight Rider” (Prestige) in 1973. The album featured studio performances by many top jazz players.

After marrying and settling in Baltimore, Parker began forming a new contemporary jazz group in 1974. Members he brought in included Baltimore drummer Larry Jeter whom Parker had heard at a jam session, Eric Perry (bassist who had been a member of the Joneses that did the song “Pretty, Pretty” (VMP 0005), Dave Barnes (pianist –studied under McCoy Tyner), Ethel Myers aka ‘Sissy’ (vocals), Sharon (vocals), and Wesley James aka ‘Rico’ (congas ex-Norman Connor and Herbie Hancock groups).

By 1976 the group was known as Belle Farms Estates, named after the street where Parker lived. They played high energy fusion.

Maynard and his wife Gail wrote the disco/funk song “Puddin’” that was recorded by the group at Flite Three and released in 1976.

Managed by veteran gospel vocalists Al and Naomi Durant, they were a touring band traveling to Philadelphia, New York (Studio 54), etc. They opened shows for Chic, and other top groups.

By 1988 the members had developed other interests and the group folded. Their record gained a cult classic status over the years among collectors especially in Europe and Asia. As a result, the group reunited in mid-‘00s for a European tour.

In ‘90s Parker and Jeter played with violinist Kenny White.

Jeter opened Dimensions in Music record store in 1990. The store celebrated over 20 years of business and has since closed.
