The Ascots featured John Wheeler (lead guitar), Skip Crowther (bass), Mike Kanapp (vocals), Terry Linenberg (keyboards), Brian Newcomer (drums), John Newcomer (equipment manager), Wayne Alvarez… The Ascots played for the JayCees State Convention in March 1968. In February 1969 the group took 2nd place at the Kenwood Teen Center Battle of the Bands and in July they won a battle at the Hampden Buttoneer’s Carnival. They appeared on the television show “Kaleidoscope” performing “Time Won’t Let Me,” and their original song “I Got the Fever.”
