Pasadena area group formed in mid-1963 by Chuck Conner (lead guitar), Bob Heath (bass, lead vocals), and Bill Smith (drums). In late 1965 they added Dick Taylor (rhythm guitar). All four members contributed on vocals.

The Amoebas were a versatile group with a large following that played Top-40, ‘50s rock & roll, and country.

They performed at Danny’s Tavern (Ann Arundel County), White Gables (Millersville)… They were the house band at Half-Way House on Ritchie Highway throughout most of 1967. Also seen at the Tarry Inn (Glen Burnie) on Fridays and Saturdays in mid-1968.

A Dome recording artist – Their song “Look at The Moon,” written by Bob Heath, was featured on the “Baltimore’s Teen Beat a Go Go” album.

Conner continued to perform with the variety group The Esquires in the ‘00s.
