Progressive rock band fronted by John Strausbaugh (vocals / harmonica ex-Prime Movers), with Ralph Reinoldi (lead guitar), Bill Phelan (rhythm), Frank Murphy (bass), Geo Liquefatto (keyboards), and Rick Martinkus (drums). Other members included Cindy King (vocals), Mark O’Connor (keyboards), and Jeff Graboski (drums). The group evolved out of Hoi Polloi, then later reverted back to Hoi Polloi.
Elf Park songs “Anyway Someday,” “This Side of Heaven,” and “Queen of Ice” were included on “The Best of Baltimore’s Buried Vol II.”
Strausbaugh went on to become a critically acclaimed writer and editor of the New York Press. His commentaries have been heard on CNN, NPR, and the BBC. His works include the books “Reflections on the Birth of the Elvis Faith” and “Rock Til You Drop: The Decline from Rebellion to Nostalgia” (Verso Publishing 2001).
