Classic rock and originals group out of Overlea/Gardenville area. Original members were Greg Evans (guitar/vocals ex-Oah’s Nark, Plum Crazy), Ron Albi (guitar/vocals ex-Plum Crazy), Mike Miller (bass/vocals), and Kell Dietz (drums/vocals). In 1983 Greg Evans left the group and was replaced by Steve Fauth aka ‘Weeb’ (ex-Oah’s Nark). Crossfire took a hiatus from 1986-88, when Ron and Mike formed Primetime with Tim Staab (guitar/vocals ex-Tumbleweed), Bernie Staab (drums/vocals), and John Ruth (keyboards/vocals). All members also provided vocals.
After the hiatus, Crossfire regrouped with Ron, Mike, Weeb, and Ruth. Kell left and was replaced by Mike Forton on drums/vocals. John Ruth left and was replaced by Kevin Johnston. Steve Sandkuhler aka ‘Sandman’ (harmonica/sax/flute) joined many a live show when he was available. Also, from 1990-99, Cathy Cares, Julie Elliott, and Teresa Albi (in succession) brought female vocals to Crossfire.
