Parkville based group originated after the breakup of The Skylarks. Charlie Cannaliato approached them about forming a new group. The Corsas got their name from Charlie’s Corvair Corsa. The ‘modern rock’ group consisted of Charlie Cannaliato (organ and leader), Chuck McLaughlin (lead and rhythm guitar), Thom Lombardi (bass), Bob Derr (drums), and Ray Delahanty who took over on bass guitar after Thom had left the band.

The Corsas practiced in Thom’s backyard on Avondale Road. All the neighbors would gather to watch the band, sometimes resulting in the road getting blocked, and at least once the police broke up the crowd.

The group played at Parkville Teen Center, Overlea Teen Center, Perry Hall Teen Center, weddings and talent shows.

Always looking for entertaining the audience, one of their antics included Thom and Bob exchanging instruments mid-song.

Thom played briefly with Paper Cup before retiring from playing music. He went on to a career in Film, Television and Theatrical Production.
