Folk guitarist / vocalist from Boston had album releases circa 1969-71 on Oracle and Capitol labels. His counterculture song classics gained him popularity on FM radio and he toured the East Coast.
During January-February 1977 Brockett recorded at Flite Three Studios and released the album “North Mountain Velvet” (Adelphi 1028), produced by Jack Heyrman and Scott Johnson. The album featured backing by the Seldom Scene (John Duffy – mandolin, vocals; John Starling – rhythm guitar, vocals; Ben Eldridge – banjo; Mike Auldridge – dobro; and Tom Gray – banjo), Kevin Roth (dulcimer – Folkways recording artist), Ricky Skaggs (fiddle), Ramblin’ Jack Elliott (vocals, guitar), Dimitrius Mims (jaw harp), ‘Fast’ A.J. Rubino (rhythm guitar), Scott Johnson (piano –Both Worlds), Ralph Fisher (drums –Both Worlds), Walt Bailey (guitar, harmonica), Bob Grimm (bass), Jan Davis (vocals), and Pat Pettaway (vocals).
