A nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the blues.

Founded in early 1970s by Dale Patton, a guitarist who had played in 1960s bands The Blues British, and The Psychedelic Propeller.

The Society continued to operate in the ‘00s promoting live music shows throughout central Maryland. Members received monthly newsletters featuring extensive articles about local and national acts by feature writer and collector Larry Benicewicz and other writers.

In 1996 Marcia Selco became President of The BBS.
