Top-40 dance club band fronted by lead vocalist Marty Thompson (ex-Hot Property) who recalled that “Dave Fultz (guitar ex-Hot Property) called me and said that he had a great 17-year-old singer named Jane Powell, a fine singing drummer in Lenny August, Julius Fischer (ex-Revolution) on keys, and Todd Dixon on bass (ex-Tiffany, Duck Soup). We called the band Diamond Gear.

We played a lot at the Redwood Inn in Aberdeen and most of the time we were on the road. Eventually Julius had to return to school and so we hired Michael Sciuto on keyboards. He was quite a talent. Then Todd left and we hired Dennis Dayhoff (ex-Rock Island Express) on bass, and I took over on keys. Jane Powell was just 17 and I was 37 and so I was kind of through with 6 night per week every week. So I eventually bowed out and took a day gig.”
