A versatile Motown / soul vocal group originally known as the Tempos. The group formed at Forest Park High School and soon changed their name to avoid conflict with another local group with the same name. They became known as the Tempros. Led by vocalists Billy Griffin and sister Diane Griffin, along with Damon Harris aka ‘Otis Harris’, Michael Hamm, and Donald Tilghman. The vocal group was backed by Towson’s Capris.
They were seen performing at teen centers and school dances, including The Allusion at the Alameda Raceway, and the Hampton Teen Center… They competed in the Teen Fair Battle of the Bands at the Civic Center in June 1968. Also appeared at Club Venus on Joppa Road.

Billy Griffin (see bio) joined Last Dynasty in 1971. He went on to take the place of Smokey Robinson as lead singer of the Miracles.
Damon Harris along with Donald Tilghman were also members of the Shades Formation before forming the Vandals. Damon (see bio) took Eddie Kendrick’s place in The Temptations.
