Group formed by Snackie Hillman from the ashes of the Pornflakes, performing an “eclectic set of jazz and world rhythms, from 1930’s jazz to 1970’s funk and everything in between.”
Early members Snackie Hillman (keyboards, vocals, band Manager), Eddie Chabot (bass, vocals), Mike Daugherty (drums ex-Matt Clark 5), adding Eric Myers (guitar), and Steve Swan (reeds).
The group went through the obligatory member changes, first of which saw the departed Daughery replaced with ex-Hassassins drummer Zak Fusciello. Additional members included Ron Spencer (guitar ex-Buttsteak), Melissa Sharlat (vocals), John Dierker (tenor sax), Chris Bavaria (guitar), Kerra Holtgren (vocals)…

Early gigs included the Ottobar, and bi-monthly shows at the Belvedere’s 13th Floor. “Since 1997, The Swingin’ Swamis have provided the music for hundreds of corporate and private functions, weddings, music and arts festivals, restaurants and night clubs. Noteworthy performances include: The Kennedy Center, MusikFest 2005, Artscape 2004 & 2005, The Ram’s Head Live (opening for The B-52’s), The Baltimore Museum of Art, and The Maryland Film Festival.”
