Rock band evolved in 6 hours, hence the name The 6th Hour. Don (lead guitar), Bill Heird (bass), Tim (organ), and Steve Clark (drums), later members included Jim ‘Mel’ Warfield (guitar) and Mike Endres (lead vocals, keyboards sax and flute). Managed by Ron Wolfsheimer. The 6th Hour performed at the Double B in Morell Park, Club 175 in Odenton.

Members became the second incarnation of Shane (see bio). They performed at the Keystone Stone Room on Holabird Ave, Club 175, Virginia Beach, and many places on the Eastern Shore, PA, WV and VA through Marmic Productions.
According to Mike Endres: “When Don and Tim left The 6th Hour in September of 1971 was right after I joined the group (never did learn their last names). That is when I moved back behind the organ and brought Jim Warfield into the group on lead guitar. The following year, when The 6th Hour held auditions to replace Jim Warfield (at my home) is when we offered the job to Frank Myers in August of 1972 (still a 4-piece) and the name was at that time changed to Shane. We brought on Graham Eckler from the previous Shane to play keyboards (now a 5-piece) and moved me to the front as lead singer, sax, flute and mellotron in October of 1972.”
