Hard rock jam band from Elkridge / Ellicott City featuring Chris Marks (guitar), Jim Reid (drums), Andy Libertini (drums), Steve Smith (bass). Marks and Smith had previously been members of the Cosmic Structure.

The group featured Chris’ extraordinary guitar playing (and vocals!). Chris played the hard rock electric tunes but was also known locally for being equally as comfortable on the acoustic guitar playing and singing covers of Bob Dylan songs. The Semolina Rice Band (name taken from a box of rice) performed covers of groups like James Gang, Robin Trower, etc… Joe Vaccarino also jammed with the group on bass guitar.
Marks moved on to D.C. where he became the lead guitarist for The Kids. The Kid Band was billed as one of D.C.’s top bands and appeared in Baltimore at the Marble Bar. Smith played for Jupiter & the Jets, Dragonfly… Vaccarino played for Heavey Duty and worked as an equipment manager for the groups Sage, and Bandit.
