Hard driving blues band formed in 1985 by Ron Capitol (keyboards), and Geno Capitol (vocals). The Capitols had formerly been in bands in their Pennsylvania hometown before moving to the Baltimore area where they were both members of the Ant Hill Mob. The Big Dog Band consisted of the Capitol brothers along with Gordy Broom (guitar), Nick Nickens (bass), and Rodney Parks (drums ex-Sound Experience…). Later members included Guitarist Dino Lisi (joined 1991, later formed the Outcasts), Sam Miller aka ‘Muleman’ (joined 1994, later of the Muleman Band)…


Gene and Ron Capitol released 1998 CD “Big Dog Unleashed” with Sam Miller (guitar), Spencer Hardy (bass), and Erik True (drums). Seen at the Café Tattoo, Cat’s Eye, Belvedere 13th Floor, E. J. Bugs, house band at the Full Moon Saloon in Fells Point, annual Baltimore Blues Festivals, The Blues Room (Sarasota FL), Big Daddy’s (North Point FL)……
