D.C. based variety group fronted by ‘the white soul brothers’ vocal duo of Ken McConkey and Michael McConkey, with rhythm section and horns. Members included Wade Beach (piano), Jim Strocchia (bass ex-The Group), Mike Kidwell (sax ex-Lawrence & Arabians).
Octagon won a big battle of the bands with their rendition of CSN&Y “Wooden Ships.” They performed the club circuit of D.C. while also traveling to Ocean City (Ships Café), Baltimore (Club Venus), and Las Vegas. Octagon rotated the circuit of the Act IV, Bastille, and Ships Café with Lawrence & the Arabians, and the Admirals.
