The group practiced in the Williamson’s home on 33rd and Old York Road. Distler recalls that the group would often break from practice and walk to the parking lot next door at Judge’s. Listening through the fire door they could hear the bands playing inside, usually it was the Koffee Beans.

The Notions gigs included Thursdays and Sundays at the Hollywood Park on Eastern Avenue. Also seen at the Zoo club in Brooklyn, Overlea H.S….

Guitarist Bill Parrish played with the band in 1967. He later joined The Capris.

The group disbanded around 1969 and re-formed as a 4-piece with Jay Williamson (keyboards), Herb Lewin (bass), a drummer, and Lew Cammarata (guitar ex-Oxfords). Lewis recalls “Herbie was the guitarist in the original version of the band. I auditioned, we hit it off, and we started rehearsing as a 4-piece. It actually was a killer band. We did all kinds of weird ‘60s psychedelic rearrangements of some of the R&B stuff the band had formerly done. We played a lot at Hollywood Park with Legend. That lasted about a year and a half.”

Lew left to join Nicky C & the Chateaux…

Collier went on to join the Decades. He continued to play music in the Baltimore area into the ‘00s. Williamson later with Legend, Tug Boat, Fancy Pants… Distler later played for Dichotomy, Papa Bear, John Billy & the Honey Boys…
