Progressive rock group from the Hopkins area. The group had been previously known by the names Tappan Zee, Hip Lingo, and the Urban Knights before making their debut in 1978 as No Mercy.
Members included Neil Solomon (lead vocal, guitar), Richard Bernstein (lead guitar), Matt Whealton (bass), and Ira Katz (drums). John Suchy later replaced Bernstein on guitar.
The band managed by Tom Myers, played at Hanratty’s Pub, Jo’s Organic Bar, Famous Ballroom… They performed in the Baltimore Super Jam ‘79 at Martin’s West on March 30, 1979 (with the Paradise Pickers, Trigger Happy, and Freewater), and the annual Hopkins Fair in May ‘79.
Katz later joined Freewater. Suchy went on to play in Spectrum, Charm City Rockers, Hectic Red…
