Vocalist / pianist James O’Day. While still a student at City College High School, Jordan began a recording career of teen style songs. His manager, local DJ Steve Wade, introduced Jordan to John Dolan, whose New Phoenix record label was having some success with the initial release by Renee Roberts. Jordan did some recordings in New York and his first single “Teenage Tears” b/w “Two Pair of Shoes” was released on the New Phoenix label in 1962 which, by then had been moved by Dolan to Wisconsin. Billboard made mention of single in the June 23, 1962 issue.
In 1963 Jordan released two singles on the Roulette label and another on 20th Fox featuring the song “The Same Kind of Girl” written by WCAO DJ Alan Field.
Jordan was managed by Zack Glickman, who later went on to New York and worked with Dion DiMucci.
Jordan could be seen locally on double bills with the Stratfords, who also recorded songs by Alan Field. He eventually relocated to New York City.
