Rock band from Homewood area of Baltimore near Johns Hopkins. They chose the name using the first initials of each member’s name Jim Finney (drums), Andy (bass), Alex Gache (guitars, vocals), Charlie Richelle (guitars), and Kerwin Jones (lead vocals). The group performed half originals and half classic rock covers of Rolling Stones, Beatles, Who, Zeppelin, Eagles, Allmans, Skynyrd…
Jaack was seen regularly at the Café Paris where they played many sessions with many great musicians including Tom Scott, Gary Grainger, John Thompson, Charlie Richelle, Carlton Nelson, John Merkel, Bob Barnaba, Lee Thompson, Mike Newby, and many more. Jaack also played at the May 1979 annual Hopkins Fair.
Jaack also doubled as a variety band called Mixed Nuts.
Gache left the states in 1982, traveling to Argentina where he played in several bands and did studio TV and theater work. In 1985 he moved to Germany, got a record deal with Candy Music, and joined the hard rock band Hammer Head. He returned to Argentina and brought a new band back to Europe. Crossed over to Holland and his band Persona Non Grata toured all over Europe. They released a Dutch single in 1998. Subsequently formed Dutch band Boven Peil. Gache has had eight solo album releases up until 2007 on Dupond & Dupont Productions.
