Originally known as the Vandals in the late ‘60s, led by Damon Harris (see bio), who left for a 4-year stint as lead singer for the Temptations. Upon leaving the Temptations Damon returned to Baltimore and reunited with his old Vandals group who became known as Impact. The Impact vocal group members included Harris, Johnny Simms, Donald Tilghman, and Charlie Timmons. The group was signed by Alan Rubens at WMOT Records, a subsidiary of Fantasy Records. Impact toured nationally and appeared on Soul Train. They had four R&B hits during the ‘70s.
