Progressive rock band formed in Annapolis area. Members included Max Ochs (vocals, rhythm guitar), Bill Rollins (lead guitar ex-Stonebridge Blues Band), Russell Stone (lead guitar), Jeff Silverman (bass), John Lee (keyboards), Ken Wolle (drums ex-Urch Perch), and Sara Hollaway (vocals)… The group played rock and blues such as Zappa, Canned Heat, along with their original music.

In 1970 the group composed the soundtrack “Grand Electric Puppet Blues Opera” which was to have been aired on TV channel 67.

Howdy Duty played all over the region from Annapolis to D.C. to Baltimore. Seen at the legendary Bluesette Club on Charles Street. They also performed at JHU, and were seen at some of the large local band rock festivals including the Read Street Festival May 19, 1970, Peace Day Festival at Glenwood Country Club on May 24, 1970 with Arlo Guthrie, Sly & the Family Stone, and some local groups, the Shady News Benefit on September 19, 1970 with Procreation, Rasputin, Bette White, Exit, and Aaron’s Rod. Also played at the Corpus Christi Church Benefit Concert on February 21, 1971 with Grin, Aubrey Circle, Michael Hunt, Aux, Bette White, 91, Will White, and Tim LeBrun.

The group later morphed into Dirty Jane, and then into Kamikaze.

Wolle and Silverman joined a reincarnation of Urch Perch briefly in 1972. Wolle was also later a member of Night Train.
