Parkville area teen band featuring Jim Theodore (guitar), Steve Kiel (drums), Dale Humphreys (keyboards), and Warren Krause (bass). Theodore had previously played in a folk duo with Don McCleary (later of the Summer’s Misfits, Fugitive 6, Raintree, One Another, Bell System).
At the time they were unaware of the Frank Bonarrigo group of the same name. They were once called upon to perform a gig at the Hollywood Park along with Tommy Vann & the Echoes. Excited at the prospect of “making it big” they arrived to the dismay of Tommy and his group. Apparently, the wrong Fugitives group was contacted! The teen Fugitives went on as scheduled and reportedly turned in a fine performance. The group was also seen at Essex Teen Center.
Theodore eventually left the group (later becoming a founding member of Paper Cup). He was replaced with guitarist Danny Heuer.
The band later became known as the Summer’s Misfits. Kiel later rejoined Theodore in Paper Cup.
