Baltimore’s equivalent to CBGB’s. The dank basement bar in The Congress Hotel presented cutting edge roots music, rock, punk and alternative music by local and national acts.
Originally established by Scott Cunningham (see bio for Marble Bar history) and featured jazz music. The club was eventually operated by Roger and Leslee Anderson.
The Congress Hotel was later home of The Galaxy Lounge, and Baltimore Pub.
